practice
Blue and Green Ltd endorses the following code of
practice in respect of its publications:
1. Accuracy
1.1 We care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or
distorted information, including pictures.
1.2 On those occasions where a misleading statement or
distortion has been published, we undertake to publish a
correction, promptly and with due prominence, and, where
appropriate, with an apology.
1.3 While we reserve the right to be partisan, we
undertake to distinguish clearly between comment,
conjecture and fact.
2. Privacy
2.1 We maintain that everyone is entitled to respect for
his or her private and family life, home, health and
correspondence, including digital communications. 2.2 We
will not engage in intimidation, harassment or
persistent pursuit. Nor will they persist in
questioning, telephoning, pursuing or photographing
individuals once asked to desist.
2.3 We will not engage in misrepresentation or
subterfuge
3. Discrimination
We will endeavour to avoid prejudicial or pejorative
reference to an individual's race, colour, religion,
gender, sexual orientation or to any physical or mental
illness or disability.
4. Insider knowledge
4.1 We will not use information gained in advance of its
general publication for profit, and nor will we pass
such information to others.
4.1 We will not buy or sell, either directly or through
nominees or agents, shares or securities about which we
have written recently or about which we intend to write
in the near future.
5. Confidential sources
5.1 We have an obligation to protect confidential
sources of information.
5.2 Where an undertaking has been sought to speak ‘off
the record’ it will be honoured.
